Characteristic features of the mineral water in Velingrad: |
|
| |
The town of Velingrad is famous with its 80 hot mineral springs (with a total flow 170 l per second) – some of the most curative in Bulgaria. The spring waters in Velingrad`s mineral water basin combine the qualitative and quantitative features of the waters in Hisar, Bania and Narechen.
The waters are rich in nitrogen, flour and have no constant anion components and minerals as well as great variety of rare elements. The levels of saltiness, temperature, sulfates, sodium and flour increase depending from the location in the region, from south to north. Investigations show that these elements have positive effect on the whole organism – muscle tissues, bone fractures, gynecological problems, nerve system, kidney diseases, stomach aches, respiratory tract. |
