Itinerary:   Varna - Arbanassi - Veliko Tarnovo - Trjavna - Etara - Varna  


Day 01: Varna - Veliko Tarnovo - Trjavna   
In the morning depart to Arbanassi, a medieval settlement and an architectural reserve.
En-route visit the Petropavlovski Monastery, one of the 14 monasteries, built during the Second Bulgarian State in the neighborhood of the old Bulgarian capital - Veliko Tarnovo and one of the best preserved monasteries from that time
Upon arrival in Arbanassi starts the tour on-foot through the museum village, famous for its impressive houses and churches with rich decoration, wood-carving and mural paintings, created in 16th-17th centuries.
Lunch in a restaurant in Arbanasi.
Proceed to Veliko Tarnovo. Enjoy the sightseeing tour through the medieval capital of the Second Bulgarian State.
Visit the Tsarevets Fortress and the craftsman’s street "Samovodska Charshia".
Later on continue to Tryavna, a picturesque town, famous for its wood-carving and icon-painting school.
 
          
 
Visit the Daskalov`s house and an icon collection. Then check in your hotel, dinner and overnight
   
       
  Day 02: Trjavna - Etara - Drjanovo Monastery - Varna        
 
After breakfast depart to Sokolski Monastery, built in 1833 and still operating monastery with a diverse history. The complex consists of a church, residential and farm buildings. A beautiful white stoned fountain with 8 spouts, decorated with statues of falcons is rising in the middle of the monastery yard.
Continue to Etara, an open-air ethnographic and architectural complex, representing the Bulgarian style of life in the past, culture and traditions.
Lunch in Etara.
On the way back visit the Drjanovo Monastery "St.Archangel Michael", situated amidst unique landscape of rolling hills, steep rock chains and caves. It was founded during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom by the two boyars, the brothers Assen and Petar. In the 14th century the holy place was one of the main centers of Hesychasm and shelters many monks.
Optional: visit the cave Bacho Kiro, next to the monastery
Drive back to Varna.
