     Successor to ancient civilizations, one of the oldest cities in Europe, the present-day Varna is one of the most attractive and charming Bulgarian towns, the Pearl of the Bulgarian Black sea coast.
A town of centuries-old history, today Varna is a large commercial, transport, academic and famous sea tourism center.

In addition to its long stretch of beach, lined by the attractive and relaxing Sea Garden, its historical remains are major attractions in their own right, encompassing the ancient, medieval and renaissance past.

The Cathedral of the Assumption, considered to be the symbol of Varna, is the second largest cathedral in Bulgaria (after the Aleksandar Nevski Cathedral in Sofia). Situated in the very center of Varna, it is one of the most magnificent monuments in the town.

One of the most frequently visited sites and impressive museums of Varna is the Archaeological museum. The museum’s most celebrated exhibits are the Gold of Varna, the oldest gold treasure in the world (over 6000 years old) and the large collection of religious icons.
