Itinerary: Sofia - Rila monastery - Sandanski - Melnik - Zlatograd - Tatul - Kardzhali - Perperikon - The Tomb of Aleksandrovo - Plovdiv - Kazanlak - Starosel - Sofia

Day 01: Sofia
•Meeting by the guide at Sofia airport
•Transfer to the hotel
•Dinner in the hotel, overnight in Sofia

Day 02: Sofia
•After breakfast sightseeing tour through the Bulgarian capital, including the most visited landmarks - the Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral, the Rotunda St. George, the church St. Sofia and the Archaeological museum
•Visit the Boyana church
•Return to the hotel, time at leisure
•Dinner and overnight
     
  Day 03: Sofia - Rila monastery - Sandasnki      
 
•In the morning leave the hotel in Sofia
•Drive to the Rila Monastery - the biggest and most impressive Bulgarian monastery, dating from the National Revival period (18th-19th centuries)
•Continue to Sandaski, one of the famous Bulgarian balneology and SPA resorts
•Check-in your hotel, dinner and overnight
 
     
  Day 04: Sandanski - Melnik - Rozhen monastery - Devin   
 
•After breakfast depart to the Rozhen monastery, situated 6 km northeast from Melnik
•Arrival in Melnik, the smallest Bulgarian town, a flourishing tobacco and wine-producing center during the 17th-18th centuries, well known in the European countries
•Visit one of the attractions in the town - the Kordopulov`s House, the biggest one on the Balkan Peninsula, dating from the Revival period
•Lunch with wine tasting in Melnik
•Depart through the picturesque mountain slopes to the town of Devin 
•Dinner and overnight in Devin
 
     
  Day 05: Devin - Zlatograd - Tatul - Kardzhali    
 
•Depart to Zlatograd
•Visit the Ethnographical Complex, showing the specific of the millennium-long history of the region - traditional lifestyle, local crafts and costumes
•Continue to Tatul - the sanctuary, dating back to the 2nd millennium B.C., believed it has been the tomb of Orpheus.
•Arrival in Kardzhali
•Check-in, dinner in the hotel, overnight
 
     
  Day 06: Kardzhali - Perperikon - The Tomb of Aleksandrovo - Plovdiv      
 
•In the morning depart to Perperikon, a large rock sanctuary (late Neolithic Age), which comprises an acropolis, temples, fortress and dwellings. According to the archaeologists this site may actually have been the renowned sanctuary of Dionysius.
•Continue to village of Aleksandrovo
•Visit the tomb of Aleksandrovo (4th century B.C.), one of the most impressive tombs found on our lands and one of the most valuable monuments of the Thracian culture
•Dinner with glass of wine in a restaurant in the Old town of Plovdiv
•Overnight in Plovdiv
 
     
  Day 07: Plovdiv - Kazanlak   
 
•The journey goes on to Kazanlak - the town, known as a center of the rose-oil production in Bulgaria
•Visit the Historical Museum in the town and the Thracian Tomb (4th-3rd centuries B.C.)
•Continue to the so called Valley of the Thracian Kings near Kazanlak
•Visit one of the most interesting Thracian tombs - Goliama Kosmatka
•Return to Kazanlak
•Dinner and overnight in Kazanlak
 
     
  Day 08: Kazanlak - Hissar - Starosel - Sofia    
 
•After breakfast depart to Starosel
•On the way stop in Hissar for a walking tour through the ancient town Diocletianopolis, a well-known resort during the Roman Empire
•Visit Starosel, an unique Thracian temple and a mausoleum in the vicinity of Starosel village, near Hissar. According to the researchers the palace belonged to the Thracian king Sitalk
•Continue to Sofia
•Dinner and overnight
 
     
  Day 09: Sofia - departure day   
  •After breakfast transfer to the airport for the departure flight
